Sometimes dreams are constant, but with alterations.

As of lately, the heavens have opened up and let out all of the tears, who knows if summer is already over? The return of the wet shoe season, the socks are having their own little “pool party” inside. Eventually, I am thinking some pairs more up to the rain task, wouldn’t be so bad.

All of my Brezel cravings been diligently met through a Backstube in Oslo, naturally, a wet Brezel moment strolling down Skippergata assumingly one super teary day. I waited underneath something of shelter, but in vain, as when you cry sometimes you cry some more.

You know what I miss, the bigger city feel, the feeling of getting lost in a new neighborhood and when the neighborhood does not feel like the “whole city.” This 1910 side-street Kurfürstendamm loft is exactly after my own cup of tea, the older the better. I’ve been stocking up on German magazines and language tools, lately. Wanna try another Franzbrötchen at Friedrichstrasse, and let the laptop rest for a change.

Typing while it rains, the newfound luxury of something new.

Feels like ages ago when my first Mac broke down, just a few months though, you know when you’ve built a relationship and it just ends in a moment of surprise. That’s how it felt like. All these libraries visited instead to browse and to be educated on a variety of topics. It shows, my black boots are faded, I’m gonna keep them that way as a reminder of all the walking.

All the occasions where I stood under trees waiting for the rain to stop, one moment in particular at a cemetery when the rain slowly transformed into a sunny feel. When a moment feels like an eternity and you just wait, then the sun appears, what a transformation.

I have this beautiful brick church I use to sit by while drinking something hot and eating cinnamon rolls. It is surrounded by older houses, very charming and a great retreat from the modern structures by the Opera.

While the computer broke down, I got to live a little more vintage by spending the evenings filled with books. One thing I learned, you get to read tons.

A red suitcase to Landsberger Allee

Been dragging my heavy red suitcase across Berlin, hostel hopping. You get to see the city either walking or using the public transportation system, mastering the art of making yourself as tiny as possible to make space for people in crowded times. When the evening comes, finding an empty chair at Dussmann to escape into old Berlin, the war from a SS perspective or like yesterday when I saw several unseen pictures of KZ Buchenwald. There was even an image book depicting the consequences of the Berlin Wall. Hardly a chance to take a close look at all books, there are simply too many whom suits many an interest.

It´s been years since I was in Berlin the last time, it´s like rediscovering it but also discovering new places, like Moabit. I arrived via Athens, the first night I slept on my inherited black leather jacket, on this cold marble-ish floor at Schönefeld, realizing I had slept outside the police station.

Spring Is In The Air

With the flare-up of tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the Nagorno-Karabakh area, I have revisited this conflict I wrote a paper about once. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said it was Armenian provocations on April 2nd which began this latest round, he even points out the illegal presence of Armenian troops in an AZERTAC interview.

Through a 1994 report from Human Rights Watch I have come to the same conclusion, Nagorno-Kabarnakh is legally belonging to Azerbaijan. Armenian presence traced to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh today) is true, however I base political opinions on current events rather than historical ones. Reasoning with all the historical events between Artsakh and today, where do you draw the line?

Polina

Happy Weekend. Polina Gagarina who to my pleasant surprise is the Eurovision Song Contest participant for Russia, this year. Songs like “Net”, “Spektakl Okonchen” and “Navek” are often played. Likewise the dark duet with Irina Dubtsova “Komu? Zachem?”

Polina features in the spring-summer 2015 issue of “MEGA Style.” Sporty, white, bold stripes and floral, a fun, eclectic blend. I wish Polina Gagarina all the best in the competition, the song she is singing is “A Million Voices.”binbin-8

Soccer Girl

Hello hump day! Today, a little darker, industrial feel is on my interior menu. When it comes to interior design I lean towards a contemporary, minimalistic approach. I´m one of those people you´ll find at IKEA relaxing in some couch watching a soccer game, then straight to the cafeteria to savor a hot meal. 1a2af91eb53b55641b53cf58511f64b5f9b213cd3c0d432ef8e153e0c1385465
