Good Sunday

As people are spending Sunday in different manners I´d like to tell you how I´m used to spending it. In my mother country Norway Sunday is considered a holy day. Shops usually keeps limited (and they are often closed) opening hours.

It´s easy to notice the difference between a Saturday and Sunday in Norway. Sunday´s aren´t as vibrant and busy. Sweden are doing things quite the opposite, one lady I talked with couldn´t understand that shops were closed in Norway.

In my case I´ve grown accustomed to closed doors, and Sunday´s have become a rather different day.

So I thought I´d add the lyrics to a song by Sergey Lazarev – You´re Beautiful (YouTube it if you like)

You’re beautiful
Want to tell you now
Though you don’t know
You’re beautiful

Something to think about as an uplifting message if you ever feel quite the contrary 🙂

“Behind the scenes”

Just documenting the exciting “behind-the-scenes” of my blogging adventure. I would reckon that this is what blogging looks like for any dedicated blogger.

I think it´s really fun to blog, and more fun to be more personal for each day that passes by. Nonetheless I think it´s good to have a few guidelines in this World Wide Web. You never know what lurks around, so it´s better to be on the safe side.

Good Friday

In the spirit of Friday I celebrate it without make up 😉 It´s wonderful to let the skin breathe once in a while. I have learned that over the years. That´s why I rarely use make up when I´m home.

Something that´s affected the amount of make up I´d put on in public. What I´ve learned is that it takes very little to feel beautiful. Some mascara, something on the lips and some kind of facial cream.

I don´t have a strict routine. Some days I forget to wash my face. Other days I forget something else.

What I know is that some fresh air does wonders. 🙂

That´s why I introduce a make up (I know there are many ways writing make up 😉 ) free Friday. It´s wonderful to see what´s underneath layers of make up.

I most certainly am not afraid to be seen public without it. I think the cashiers at my local grocery store has seen me more without that with.

Have a merry Friday (with or without).

Treat Urself Like a Princess

Here are a few of the beauty products I use. I bought them while I was in England. The Body Shop is a rather expensive affair at least in my mother country of Norway.

I never contemplate on stocking up on products from The Body Shop because of that.

That´s why I thought it was such a nice to see what the products cost in England. (Come to think about it adding the airfare to the equation…..purchasing products in Norway might come out as the cheaper option 😛 )

Nevertheless I found myself liking the investment.

Because I believe that it is right to treat yourself like a princess every day. If that means buying a nice shower cream or exfoliation I do approve. After all I have learned that to be able to give of yourself to others, you have to take care of yourself too.

Summer Dress

Spring decided to play on its warmer side yesterday. Not warm enough to just wear this patterned summer dress. That´s why I wore  a shirt by Whitney Port for Bik Bok underneath.

I love and adore it.

The weather is surely playing on all chords nowadays. Today it´s cloudy.

I don´t expect summer to bloom any day

But it was nice to get one day yesterday as a reminder of the wonderful season ahead

Goodnight Tuesday, Hello Wednesday

I´m about to go to bed now. The day has been filled with ups and downs. But that´s normality. No day is filled only with ups, if you don´t have downs – how is it possible to recognize an up?

The now passed day (by 30 minutes) ended on an up.

What´s suits more than a few goodnight pictures? I dare say I found it appropriate

Not as styled I´d like but what the heck? I have more causal days than styled ones. Even though I would like to brag about having a jam-packed wardrobe with Chanel and her branded friends, I have just the bare minimum. (of non-brand value or wait I have a few)

My style is working with what you already have, there´s nothing else that works. At least in my case. I most certainly can´t afford every fashion item in every magazine.

That´s forced me to be satisfied with what I have, and instead simplify. White items for instance goes perfectly with jeans. Add a necklace or a bracelet, and that´s it 🙂

Public transportation: London & Berlin

When I travel one of the things I look forward to doing is using the public transportation system. It might sound kind of weird to a non-public transportation enthusiast, but for me it´s really one of those things I love.

The reason why is very simple. The people on board. Might be someone getting to work, school children or elderly. There are so many kinds of people who hops on board. When I was in Berlin last year a man approached me at Nollendorfplatz subway station. He was asking me for directions, because he needed to get to a seminar in time. To my amusement that morning I had taken the subway in the wrong direction (honest mistake), so for him to ask me was rather funny.  (I am usually very punctual 😉 )

I did manage to give him the right directions, and I got to where I was supposed to go. That story is a highlight describing why I love public transportation as much. Stories like that are fond memories. It enhanced my trip because I was the only one experiencing it. Then again every stop on a line have different stories attached.
